COMPANY PROFILE

John Himmelreich & Associates was formed in 1997 to provide geotechnical consulting, forensic geology, environmental geology, engineering geology, and urban geology expertise and service to a broad range of clients and projects. Geologic evaluation is necessary for the physical, engineering, environmental, and economic evaluation of engineering works, and developed and undeveloped land. John Himmelreich's extensive knowledge of the regions in which he works, professionalism, and service has resulted in a solid history of continued client satisfaction. Since starting practice in California in 1976, John’s reputation has resulted in a continued and expanding client base, providing service to engineers, municipal, institutional, and private industry clientele.

John Himmelreich is actively involved in every project. He is able to respond quickly to project requirements and client needs, and to answer questions posed by attorneys, government reviewers, project owners, engineers, architects, and contractors. A Colorado native and based out of Colorado Springs for twenty-three years, Mr. Himmelreich has performed geologic, geotechnical, and/or environmental studies in at least twenty-five Colorado counties. His experience also includes geologic and/or environmental studies in Wyoming, New Mexico, California, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. He has performed detailed photogeologic analysis and mapping on hundreds of square miles in complex geologic and environmental settings. These projects have provided diverse experience to enhance his expertise and education. Experience, commitment to intimate project involvement, and approach results in higher quality, faster, more professional service with better communication and overall economics to the client.

John Himmelreich & Associates are supported by an extensive in-house library of geologic and geotechnical references, newspaper archives, and aerial photography dating back to 1937. This library, indexed by a geographic information system, along with our database and knowledge of available resources and references, provide a unique source of valuable information for the project team. We also provide services related to historical and investigative research.

We offer a full range of geologic services including geologic studies related to: forensic geology, environmental geology, engineering geology; geologic hazards evaluations; siting studies; pre-purchase evaluations; feasibility studies; residential geologic evaluations; preliminary and final design evaluations; and ground water geology. We are prepared to provide these services either as a prime consultant or as a sub-consultant on projects.

As an award-winning author and qualified expert, Mr. Himmelreich is a frequent speaker on topics of geology, including legislative and regulatory issues. He is a member of the Association of Engineering Geologists and serves as the Chairman of the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee for the Rocky Mountain Section. John is a member of the State Hazard Mitigation Team, Geologic Hazards Committee and Landslide Subcommittee of the Colorado Natural Hazards Mitigation Council. In this capacity he served as a participant during the Interagency Hazard Mitigation Team meeting convened in response to the Presidential Disaster Declaration 1276-DR-CO. Recently, John was appointed as the representative for El Paso County's Project Impact, to represent the Council of Neighbors and Organizations. He is active in local, regional, state, and national regulatory and geologic issues.
